When I try to save a project I get a message that says Error 40

This suggests that you did not properly install the software, so uninstall the software and re-install in again.
  1. Save and close all open programs
  2. Access the Control Panel: Start > Settings > Control Panel
  3. Choose Add & Remove Programs
  4. Scroll down and search for HomeWorks
  5. Select HomeWorks and choose Remove
  6. Put your HomeWorks disk back into the computer
  7. Run through the setup program

I can't seem to use the masking tools or see a cross hair when using the rectangle or outline tool.

This suggests that you have another software program installed on your computer that is conflicting with HomeWorks. To solve this problem, follow the steps outlined below:
  1. Save and close all open programs
  2. Access the Control Panel: Start > Settings > Control Panel
  3. Choose Add & Remove Programs
  4. Scroll down and see if you have a program called HP Memories Disk
  5. If you do, download the following patch HP_Memories_Patch
  6. Save it in your computer
  7. Double-click the HP_Memories_Patch.exe file
  8. Restart your computer
  9. Run HomeWorks
