Painting balcony or porch railings is an easy way to spruce up the look of your house. However,
because some railings are ornate or narrow, this may be a daunting task in HomeWorks.
The following are some tips & tricks that will show you how simple this can be.

If you are not familiar with any of the tools listed below, please refer to the training videos section of this website or the animated tutorials and help files located in the Help tab of your HomeWorks software.

Make sure that you photo is a minimum of 800px by 600px, this will allow you to use the full zoom capabilities of HomeWorks.
Zoom into the highest level where the railings are, this will make detailed work more manageable, and you will be able to see all the details more clearly.

If the railing is all straight lines, like in the photo above, a trick is to use the rectangle tool.
If the railing is more curvy or ornate use the magic brush tool. This tool will grab areas around your brush that are the same colour. This works great if your original railing colour in the photo contrasts with the background surrounding the railing. You can also try adjusting the sensitivity and the size of the brush to make this more effective for you.
or
If you need more control the paint brush is a good tool to use. A trick is to select the round brush and decrease the size to 1 px (the smallest size) for the fine details.
