Product FAQ

+ Is the RenoWorks Pro free trial version restricted in anyway?

No, the software is not restricted. However, you only have a 14-day trial period.
+ Do I need a digital camera in order to use the software?

No, if you don’t have a digital camera, you can have a photograph scanned.
+ How do I access the product library to download more products?

RenoWorks Pro v4.0 is equipped with automatic product updates, provided that you have an active internet connection. Each time you open the software, you will see a prompt showing you which products are available to be updated. You have the option of selecting either all, or just some of the product updates.

If the prompt does not automatically appear, or if you would like to check for updates while running the software, please click on the house icon on the top-left corner of your screen, and select "Help", and then "Check for Updates & Product Libraries..."

For those who are still using an older version of RenoWorks Pro (prior to v4.0), you will need to visit our
members only section. Just login and create an account, then you will have access to all the available products for download.

+ Do I need any previous computer experience to use this software?

No, all you need is a willingness to learn. Many people with no computer experience are now avid users.
+ How long does it take to prepare a project using RenoWorks Pro?

Each project varies but once you are comfortable with the software, preparing a project can range from 10 minutes for a simple home, to 30 min for an average home. And for more complex homes, it can range up to one hour. It just all depends on how detailed you want to be. But once the home is prepared, you can change product colors and options instantaneously.
+ Can I make an addition to a home by using RenoWorks?

RenoWorks works very well for adding new siding, stucco, roofing, stone, etc to areas of the home that already exist or for adding products such as windows, doors and shutters. It is possible to draw out new surface areas, however this is considered very advanced.
+ Should I take a picture of a client’s home and then load it into the software and prepare it with the client there?

It is up to you how you want to handle your client meetings but to manage your time most effectively, we would suggest taking a photograph of the client’s home and preparing it before you go to the meeting. This way as soon as you begin you can select the different areas of the home and change the products very quickly. This creates the most WOW factor.
+ Is there a way I can talk to other RenoWorks users?

Yes. The RenoWorks support forum can be found in the Technology section on Contractor Talk. Visit the support forum.
