General

+ What file format can I import into the software?

The software can import the following graphic file formats: JPEG, BMP, or PNG.
+ How do I email the finished project to a client who may not have the software?

Because the software uses a proprietary format (RWP), project files can only be emailed to other software users. However, you can email a JPEG image of your project to anyone. Just export a JPEG version of the project. This feature is found under the SAVE tab.
+ The products I use don't seem to be available in the software.

If you do not see a certain manufacturer or product line that you would like to use in RenoWorks Pro™, please email us. We will do what we can to work with you and the manufacturer in order to make those products available in our Product Download Center.
+ The colors don't look accurate. Is there something I can do to improve them?

Ensure that your monitor setting (Help tab > Settings) is accurate: LCD for laptops and flat screens or CRT for desktop monitors. And when printing, be sure to print a high-res version of your image on premium glossy photo paper.
Note: RenoWorks takes great care in representing manufacturers' colors as accurately as current technology allows. However, product sample swatches should ALWAYS be present when making a final color decision.
+ Does RenoWorks have a support forum?

Yes. The RenoWorks support forum can be found in the Technology section on Contractor Talk. Visit the support forum.

    7. Run RenoWorks

    Masking

+ How does the Foreground masking tool work?

The entire area that is masked with the Foreground tool is automatically copied to what is called the Foreground Layer. This layer is always positioned on top of all other layers regardless of the number of layers a project may have. Generally, this tool is used for masking items that obstruct the view of the house, such as foliage and exterior fixtures. This tool ensures that all product that is applied thereafter will sit behind the foreground layer resulting in a realistic rendering of your project. If there are no items that obstruct the view of the house, then there is no foreground to mask and you can skip this step in preparing your project.
+ After I finished masking the foreground, the red coloring disappears.

This function is normal. The red coloring disappears so you can see the foliage and see a realistic rendering of your project.
+ I want to remove the tree in front of my house, can I do this?

No. However, you can chop it down if you like. If you have a tree in the front of your house, one solution is to mask it using the Foreground tool. By using the Foreground tool, you will retain the look and position of the tree (or any other foliage) in the foreground of your house so when you begin applying product, the product will sit behind the foreground to ensure a very realistic rendering. Another solution is to simply apply product over the tree (or any other foliage) that sits in front of the house. If you choose to apply product over the tree (or any other foliage), the backgound will bleed through your newly applied product. To correct this, turn shading off for that particular product. The shading option is found under the Colors tab.

    Applying Products

+ The product on the original house is darker in color and texture than the product I wish to apply. How do I prevent the original product color and texture from bleeding through?

Turn the Shading option off for that particular product. You will find the Shading option by clicking on the Colors tab. Turning Shading off will make the product look opaque and prevent color and textures of the original product from bleeding through.
+ I don't see any product color options. How do I access and change the colors?

To access and change the color of a particular product you must first apply that product to the house. Once it has been applied, double-click the area on the house where that product has been applied to access the Configuration Panel. Or, look to the Colors tab to see all the available colors for that product.
+ Can I copy and paste windows and shutters?

Yes, only with versions 1.7.1497 and greater can you copy and paste windows and shutters. To copy and paste, select the window or shutter you wish to copy and by using the keys on the keyboard, hit: Ctrl + C. A direct copy of the window or shutter will appear on top of the original, just to the side.
+ The door I added to my house appears too large / small. How can I fix this?

The size of the door is based on the scale you initially set. In order to adjust the proportions, you will need to Re-set the scale. The option can be found under the Regions tab.
    + I don't see my manufacturer listed
